Make Your Own Fond Memories

 In Selling

Much-loved family home ready for its next chapter.

On the market for the first time since it was built 76 years ago, this original-condition character home offers an opportunity to bring a renovation dream to life in a fabulous location. Reg and Sheila Howe brought the 728 sq. metre block for 45 pounds in 1936 and the home was built in 1939, with Reg, a carpenter, doing much of the construction himself. Typical of the era, the home boasts high ornate ceilings, jarrah floorboards, leadlight windows and picture rails. In 1953, the sleepout above the garage was added.

Several mature frangipanis frame the home. Their son Les, who grew up in the home and still lives in the neighbourhood, said he remembers riding his bike up the hill to watch Floreat Forum being built. “The neighbourhood was a great place to grow up as my parents knew everyone in the street through the bowling club. Although the ‘oldies’ have gone, it’s good to see thier houses have been rejuvenated and young families are bringing them back to life. “Favourite memories were having fun with other kids in the street and their dogs. In later years, I remember washing my car, an EH Holden, on the front lawn every weekend.” The location is in easy walking distance of Floreat Park Primary School, Newman Junior College, the sports precinct and tennis club.

The selling agent is Jillian Jeffery of The Property Exchange.
