So, What Will Next Year Bring?
Well, let’s hope you like surprises because I’m not sure that anyone on earth can tell you right now what we are in for next year – given the last couple.
So, in my opinion, we should all create our own ‘next year’, by doing all the things that we’ve ever thought, planned, hoped for, wondered about within ourselves and make 2022 the year that you actually do them.
To do that, you have to ignore a lot of what is going on around you, divorce the mainstream media and truly create your own self, totally devoid of outside influences, such as fashion, current events, demands, expectations, guilt, popularity, other opinions, in fact, anything that takes away from the unique being that you are.
You could for instance take a “to hell with it” attitude and just decide to wear what you like, do what you like, relish in spontaneity, learn to say ‘no’ (nicely), sign up for something exciting, like skydiving and just generally step out of your confined world and be more daring than you could possibly imagine. It’s the most exhilarating feeling ever and will fill you with confidence, self-worth, freedom, self-expression, and happiness.
For the first time ever ignore what other people think of you and when you achieve that, you will be as free as a bird and others will envy you forever. It has always fascinated me why people generally want to be like everyone else, why they want to do things that everyone else is doing, why they don’t want to stand out from the rest and embrace their individuality. It seems to be some strange human condition that makes them not want to be noticed.
I know that being a bit different can seem a bit confronting. You may not want to answer questions like ‘why is your hair bright pink?’ but the only answers you ever need are “I like it” or “I want to” or “that’s what I believe”. You don’t have to explain anything – you can just be ‘you’ and no one has the right to ask or expect an answer.
So…why not make 2022 – all about YOU? Do whatever makes you feel good (legally of course!), try things you’ve never tried, do things you’ve never done – make things you’ve never made and be who you’ve never been. If there are going to be any surprises this year – make sure you surprise yourself, as to who you can be and what you can achieve.
Have a wonderful Christmas, enjoy your family and friends – look at all their good points and make everyone feel they belong.
Here’s to 2022!
