First Impressions Last

There’s an old saying – ‘first impressions last’ – and nothing could be truer when it comes to presenting your property for rent and sale alike. That means a tidy and presentable interior and exterior, as many people will drive-by before deciding whether to inspect it on open days.

Street appeal: Make sure the front of your property looks appealing and inviting. If you have a garden ensure it’s weed-free, paths are swept.

Clean and bright: Ensure the windows are clean inside and out – it’s surprising how much difference it makes to the light.

Attend to maintenance: From leaking taps to a blown bulb, make sure the minor repairs are taken care of. A lick of paint will freshen scuffs and scrapes. Attending to basic maintenance will help to ensure prospective tenants walk away with a positive memory of the property.

Update: Consider installing a split system reverse cycle air conditioner and/or a dishwasher.

Freshen up:  If you have the time, brighten the place up with fresh flowers.
