Buying Property : Why Are We So Ruled By Fear?
I think I must have finally stepped into the realm of maturity and wisdom as I am now noticing things that either were never there or that I never saw before. Suddenly so many people cannot make a decision to save themselves – whether it be buying a home or choosing the dessert, everyone seems to fearful of making the ‘wrong decision’ that they end up doing nothing, which is probably the worst decision of all. So why are we all so paralysed with fear? And what are we afraid of?
Try asking someone – chances are they won’t be able to give you the answer because they can’t decide what’s making them afraid… The word decision in itself suggest options – well that’s a positive in itself – and options creates choices – ever more tantalizing as there are many people out there who don’t have either options or choices – think about them when you’re trying to decide on your new car, or home, or job. I’m sure they would love your spot!
So don’t overthink it – just go with what your heart says and commit to it – that is the way forward and everything else will fall into place.
Then try to get this concept – the head is for solving problems, gaining knowledge, and sorting out the logic. The heart on the other hand is for choices – that’s what you need to go with when making decisions, if you let your head get involved then all is lost and all you’ll have left is fear and confusion. So don’t overthink it – just go with what your heart says and commit to it – that is the way forward and everything else will fall into place. This is particularly important when choosing your home – if you buy with your head and not your heart you will probably never settle. Your home should be your safe place, you happy place and should be in partnership with you, so if it sings to you and wraps its arms around you then just buy it – it will look after you, and you will never regret the decision.
So, stop worrying about the ‘market’, the ‘economy’ and the ‘prices’ because they are all completely out of your control and if you let them make choices for you, then you will be out of control too. Think about what you want to achieve. Decide it, do it, own it. Standing still never got anyone anywhere – so maybe it’s time to make your move.
