• Niki provided a professional and dependable service throughout the sales process of my home in Wembley. Both Niki and The Property Exchange team demonstrated sound knowledge of the local property market and provided a unique and effective sales campaign which facilitated substantial exposure for my listing. Across the board, communication was transparent and response timing was exceptional. I would highly recommend Niki and The Property Exchange for your next listing.

  • We were very impressed with Clare. She was professional, personable and responded to our queries in a timely manner. She followed up our questions to the sellers and ensured any issues were dealt with before settlement. She has good knowledge of the area and is an experienced agent. We could trust that she would do a good job and look forward to working with her again.

  • Clare was professional & determined! In a tough market, Clare never lost faith or enthusiasm that we'd achieve a sale. Clare went over and above in all areas - from staging the property through to settlement. I would highly recommend her to other sellers.

  • Clare is a delight! Such a positive experience. Clare Nation is an exceptional real estate agent and went over and beyond for us, making buying our new home such a positive and special experience. We really felt she had our best interest at heart. She was always professional and available to ask questions, she was approachable and friendly and had knowledge of previous and current sales. She offered her expertise in the field and assisted us every step of the way and was always available for anything we needed. I cannot speak highly enough of Clare, as a person and all the work she does with The Property Exchange.

J Johns Buyer – Connolly Street, Wembley – October 2019
  • We were very comfortable dealing with Clare Nation, she understood our requirements and was able to get a good result. She is very professional and personable; she was very patient, while we were considering our options. We believe she was working for the seller to get the best price she could, but she was also very responsive and reasonable with us. Thanks Clare.

  • The best real estate team and approach! Clare and her team were fantastic. Very knowledgeable of the area and honest in their recommendations and expectations. Their approach to the psychology of selling a house was fantastic. Super friendly and everything explained really well. I think it was only because of their contacts and sales approach that I was able to get the price I did, which considering the market at the moment was better than I expected. They were on the ball the whole time and their communication was fantastic. Would unreservedly recommend them.

  • Clare Nation's enthusiasm, professionalism and courtesy didn’t wane for an instant. From time to time, one hears of people of whom it is said “Nothing is too much trouble”. But with Clare, that is absolute truth. Not only did she sell my property in an incredibly short time on Christmas Eve, but at the same time managed the endless stream of small details ranging from missing window lock keys to outstanding insurance claims with a simple and cheerful “Don’t worry – I’ll sort it out”! I should also mention Chelsea in the office who was always efficient and fully across anything in respect of the sale I needed to ask her. Niki, good teams are usually the result of a good leader and in this case that is clearly you. Your initial wise counsel, sensible, balanced assessment and the many systems you have set up resulted in a fully professional, streamlined marketing and sales campaign delivered virtually overnight.

  • We have used The Property Exchange as the management agent for our rental property for 17 years and we cannot recommend them highly enough. We have a number of rental properties and The Property Exchange are by far the best agent we have dealt with. They take great interest in your property and are always on top of managing it. When we finally decided to sell, we decide to use The Property Exchange again. Again, we were not disappointed! They were fantastic and helped us greatly which was essential as we are based in the UK.

    N. and A. Mellor Seller, Jasmine Ave, Subiaco // Jan 2019
  • Active local agent! Very proactive at all times with great communication skills and very easy to deal with including all staff members.

    P. Reading Seller, Onslow Road, Shenton Park // Sept 2018
  • Super professional agents - Niki and her team helped to sell our house in a single day! They were a pleasure to deal with and extremely organised. Having a team meant that they were all able to dedicate their attention to individual concerns or requests without delays. Niki's process of staging and advertising the house helped draw in the crowd and created great competition for a quick sale. Thanks again Niki, Chelsea and Clare!

    G. Stachowiak Seller, Bagot Road, Subiaco // Sept 2018

Niki started out her working life as a psychologist with Mental Health Services after attaining a Bachelor of Psychology at UWA. (She now find this particularly useful when selling homes!)

In 1978 she moved to South Africa for 6 years and got into a career in Public Relations within the hospitality industry, working for the Southern Sun group of hotels Holiday Inns and a very upmarket private Hotel named The Vineyard.

In 1984 she returned to Perth and attained a position as Public Relations Manager of the Merlin Hotel (now The Hyatt) she then 2 years later opened her own version of The Hard Rock Café in Hay Street, Subiaco, which was a resounding success and used to still be humming until the kitchen closed at 3 am in the morning! She ran this until it was bought by Matilda Bay Brewing Company and renamed The Oriel.

In 1988 she started her career in Real Estate in Subiaco and then in 1997 opened The Property Exchange .  Twenty years later, “ TPE “as it is fondly known, is still going strong, and has to be one of the most fun places to work anywhere. The work hard, play hard mentality creates a great atmosphere and much humour along the way.

Niki lives in the same house in Claremont that she bought in 1985 with her partner John, but has been thoroughly renovated and extended since then.

Outside of Real Estate Niki is passionate about collecting old cars, anything retro, singing and playing the guitar, her pet parrot Banjo, entertaining friends and travelling the world.

It takes a lot of very careful consideration before the child of a real estate agent decides to follow in their parent’s footsteps! We daughters and sons know first-hand the hard work it takes and the sacrifices that need to be made to succeed in such a competitive and demanding industry.

With this in mind, back in 2005, I thought there would be no harm in sitting on The Property Exchange Saturday reception desk during my Uni years. But fast-forward 14 years of moving from reception, to holiday fill-in, to Marketing Manager and now 5 years in Real Estate Sales – I’m practically part of the furniture! It must have been a trick!

There have been a couple of times that I have searched for roles in other industries, but each time the thought of leaving The Property Exchange team left me feeling very uninspired. There’s nothing better than spending each day in such a vibrant workplace, surrounded by a dedicated team who provide so much fun and support. Real estate sales is darn challenging, but the environment at The Property Exchange keeps me smiling and raises me from strength to strength. Having mum as my mentor and partner is pretty special too.

For me, one of the keys to success in sales is integrity. From my very early years, mum taught me the importance of always doing what you say you’re going to do, being truthful, and being kind. This advice has stuck with me very firmly and strongly guides the way I work. This combines with my perfectionist tendencies to result in a strong work ethic – if I tell you I’m going to do something, I’ll do it and I’ll do it well!

I truly believe in property as an enabler – whilst you may curse the mortgage repayments and maintenance bills, the ownership of property provides you with security, greater flexibility and more choices for the future – it puts you in charge of your own destiny. I bought my first investment property in 2009 which is managed by The Property Exchange, and purchased a beautiful character home with my fiancé in 2018. Outside of work, I love the beach, Pilates, reading a great book, and enjoying good food and wine with friends.

Clare joined The Property Exchange as an energetic 20 year old 21 years ago to create a rent roll for this emergent company. Eleven years later, a very successful portfolio of over 300 properties was developed before Clare left to expand her experience; firstly as a Sales Agent and then by overseeing the operations of another large real estate firm. Her responsibilities here included project marketing, residential and commercial tenders, sales of residential and commercial developments, staff recruitment and corporate finance for various entities.

After an 8 year break, Clare is now back with her beloved brand at The Property Exchange to oversee the Sales Team as well as practicing as a Sales Agent in and around the Subiaco area.

During the last 20 years in real estate, Clare has come to understand the importance of honesty, integrity, authenticity and the significance of being passionate about improving people’s lives overall, and setting them on a course which is going to benefit them in the future.

To this end, when it comes time for her clients to sell their home, the absolute top priority is to give expert advice that will enhance the selling price and hence place them at a great advantage for their next move.

Clare’s technological ‘know how’, strong focus on proactive activities, client communication, and her immense compassion, empathy and drive combine to create the very best outcome for her clients. This is what she prides herself on. And whilst Clare is in the business of selling homes, her focus is and will always remain on being there to transform the lives of her clients through home ownership.
